3 weddings and a
reunion
Starting in July 2009, there were 5
weddings among friends and family, 3 of which Rick and I attended. In August
2009
we flew to Seattle to a TechnoServe friend's wedding and also with Diana's
college friend Ali leading us on a tour of Seattle.
In September, we drove to Yosemite to the wedding of Diana's playgroup friend,
the daughter of our good friends.
October we flew to Boston to Rick's Harvard Business School 35th Reunion, spent
a couple of days at Cape Cod
with 2 of his HBS classmates and their wives. Then a week later back in CA
we attended 1st wedding among
the grown kids of our Gourmet group.

The last
wedding we attended in 2009 was with the Linskys of our Gourmet
Group. (Above Far L) Mark, Sheryl the bride, and Roberta
beam with happiness. (Above L and C) The bride's mother Roberta and
the bride and groom, Nick and Sheryl are lifted in
a traditional Jewish celebration by some hearty wedding guests.
(Above R) Mark and Roberta keep up their family's party-ing
tradition
by dancing until the end of the reception. (Above Far R)
Wendy, Rick and Gourmet buddy Rebecca share the joy in the wonderful
setting of Berkeley's Tilden Park. |

Jennifer Huber Marries Josh Cohen at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite

What could be more stunning a backdrop for a wedding than our
favorite place in the world, Yosemite (Above Far L)? The outdoor
setting (Above L) was the meadow behind the Ahwahnee Hotel (Above
L). Proud "playgroup" parents Bill and Mary Jo (Above C)
accompanied the bride Jennifer to stand under the "chupa" with Josh
(Above R) while they incorporated both Jewish and Christian
traditions with a judge friend as the wedding officiator. Between
weekend hikes and meals, we could all hang out on the balcony of
the Ahwahnee which happened to be attached to Bill and Mary Jo's
room. Everyone had a great time at their party and activities! |

Holly
Kirschke Marries Jonny Marvin at University of Seattle |

The first wedding we attended in 2009 was for TechnoServe friend,
Holly, and her husband Jonny (Above Far L) in Seattle
along with a few other TechnoServe colleagues (Above L). This was
one of the most joyful, relaxed occasions we attended.
(Above C) Jonny and Holly ring the carillon on the University of
Seattle campus with their ring-bearer where the wedding
was held. (Above R) Holly and her wedding party fly down the road to
the reception at the Seattle Zoo's African Village
where Ugandan dancers (Above Far R) specially included Holly, who
had lived in Uganda during grad school. |
